Hirst’s sculpture ‘Saint Batholomew, Exquisite Pain’ (2008) is on display in the  seventeenth century chapel at Chatsworth as part of ‘Beyond Limits’, Sotheby’s annual sculpture exhibition. Installed within the altar, the sculpture is framed by Antonio Verrio’s painting, 'The Incredulity of Saint Thomas' (1692), and flanked above by Caius Gabriel Cibber’s seventeenth century alabaster sculptures 'Faith' and 'Justice'.

Guest curated by Tim Marlow, Director of Artistic Programmes at The Royal Academy of Arts, the 2015 exhibition features more than 30 monumental sculptures created by leading British artists over the past 65 years. Alongside Hirst, artists such as Jaume Plensa, Manolo Valdés and Thomas Heatherwick feature.
