Warhol's notorious provocation that ‘good business is the best art’ served as a starting point for this exhibition which offered a consideration of the various ways that artists since the 1980s have engaged with mass media and the market and cultivated artistic personas. Alongside a diamond cabinet and spot painting from Hirst’s seminal auction event at Sotheby's in 2008, ‘Beautiful Inside My Head Forever’, the major ‘Natural History’ sculpture ‘End of an Era’ (2009) was displayed. Also exhibited for the first time since 1992 was Hirst’s installation piece ‘Wendy, Wenzei’ (1992) in which seated identical twins are positioned in front of a pair of wall spot paintings.
