The ‘Poison’ paintings feature images of individual human skulls, silkscreened in black UV ink with charcoal onto large canvases. Each painting is named after a lethal toxic substance, for example ‘Thallium’ (2010). The ‘Remedies’ series offered a point of contrast: brightly coloured metal, resin and plaster pills are arranged on pale canvases.
A catalogue in two volumes accompanied the exhibition, including an essay by American novelist Gary Shteyngart (Other Criteria/Gagosian Gallery).
