The show was hosted by Bruno Brunnet Contemporary Fine Art whilst Hirst was living in Berlin. As part of the installation, visitors were invited to make their own ‘beautiful’ drawings for free. In a conversation with Brunnet, published in the exhibition catalogue, it was put to Hirst, “I could do that [spin drawings] with my eyes closed … where’s the art in that?” To which Hirst responded, “Exactly. That’s the point.”
The exhibition catalogue was produced in an edition of 800 and included Hirst’s sketched plans for the machine (Bruno Brunnet Fine Arts, 1994).
